Accommodation and facilities

Great Wood accommodates up to 74 people in an assortment of cabins. Six of these consist of fully serviced units each of which sleeps eight campers in bunks and contains an en-suite leaders’ room sleeping two. The bunk area of the cabins can be divided easily into two separate rooms of four.

There are a further four leaders’ cabins: all fully serviced, sleeping a maximum of 14 people in seven twin rooms. One cabin has wheel-chair access and is suitably equipped throughout. The cabins have electricity, heating, toilets and showers.

There is an outdoor, heated swimming pool, archery field and a professional low-ropes course. Great Wood also has a delightful open-air chapel in a clearing on a small wooded island in the stream.

Visitors need to bring their own sleeping bag and pillowcase.

In order to use the pool, ropes course or archery field it is necessary to have a suitably qualified instructor. If groups renting the site do not have an instructor in their party, Great Wood may be able to supply one. Please contact us to discuss your requirements.
